Kathy Mayeux is our fun-loving, yet structured presence. A fusion of old-school Arthur Andersen business consulting objectivity with a calming presence, Kathy has never met a task too small or too tall. She is an active-listener that lives by the motto “It is never a wrong time to do the right thing or a right time to do the wrong thing.” A Louisiana State University Alum, Kathy has more than 40 years of consulting and business management experience, 20 of which have been in sales and use tax specific management and/or partner roles. Kathy loves to travel, spend time with family, and watch LSU Tiger sports.
Jerry Pennington. The man, the myth, the legend. When it comes to tax application, there is no equal. He leaves no stone unturned in his pursuit of accuracy. After studying accounting at Texas A&M University, Jerry began his career in information technology before transitioning back to sales and use tax consulting in 2004. In his spare time, Jerry likes to spend his time woodworking or with his family in the great outdoors.
Mason Jordan is our resident comedian and troublemaker. With a background in tax software implementation, he combines his knowledge of audit generation with his passion for taxability. A graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Mason brings ten years of tax consulting experience. When he's not in the office, you can find Mason hitting the trails, playing softball, on the basketball court, or coaching his sons in various sports.
Todd Filo, the engineer and technical mastermind. Leveraging his mechanical engineering degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison, Todd has a refined understanding of the intricacies of construction, manufacturing, information technology, and oil/gas services. Todd advises on matters such as taxability guidance, applicable exemptions, and the appropriate documentation required to claim such exemptions. Todd brings nearly twenty years of sales tax specific experience, including more than a decade spent at the partner-level.
Katie Govier, CPA is the delightfully resourceful new member of our team with over fifteen years of public and private accounting experience. Katie leverages her degrees in Accounting, Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance, and International Business from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville doing technical research, process improvement, and overall tax compliance in the United States and Canada. When Katie is not analyzing spreadsheets, you can find her volunteer teaching Junior Achievement programs at her children’s school, or on some hilarious adventures in the great outdoors of Wisconsin with her family.
Annette Gioia, the compliance guru and technical aficionado of the group. Joining The Sales Tax Team in July 2023, Annette Gioia is a seasoned professional with a rich background encompassing fifteen years of expertise in sales tax compliance. Her specialized focus lies in the realm of return preparation tools and software, where she adeptly navigates the intricacies of the field. Beyond her professional pursuits, Annette finds joy in crafting sentimental items and testing novel gadgets, which showcases her innate curiosity and creative spirit.
